5 easy essential oil recipes to support your child

Back to school edition

August has come and gone and schools are opening up again. For many children this is a challenging time of the year, with new subjects, a new teacher, new classmates, or even a new school to go to.

Essential oils are a very effective way to ease this transition, therefore we would like to share several recipes of essential oil blends that are ease to make and use.

Before you start a small word of caution: do not apply any essential oils on the skin of children without diluting them first, for children a dilution of 25% is advised. The recipes in this article are suitable for children over 2 years old. Not all essential oils are safe to use for children, for more information please check this link HERE.

Essential oil blends for your child: back to school

Sleep Well Massage Oil

We all know how important it is to have a good night’s rest before school, but sometimes children feel anxious and have trouble going to sleep in the evening. This oil helps them calm down and promotes a peaceful sleep.

  • 60 ml of unscented base oil (almond, olive, etc.)
  • 5 drops of chamomile essential oil
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops of sandalwood essential oil
  • Put in a bottle and shake well

Giving your child a relaxing aromatherapy massage is one of the best ways to bond with them, because it is comforting and makes them feel secure. It also lets them know how much you love them and assures them that you will always be there for them. When you establish a massage routine, you and your child will look forward to spending that “quality time” with each other every day.
