Thursday Morning Pilates Class
Every Thursday morning at Tree Of Life Centre you have an opportunity to take part in Pilates classes!
Pilates is an exercise technique which borrows from lots of other disciplines with the objective of making the core muscles strong and stable and all the other skeletal muscles long and strong. This latter is important because it contrasts with gym type exercises which shorten skeletal muscles while strengthening them.
The class I teach will of course focus on the core but it will too focus on any injury or pain issues that attendees may have with a view to repair and rehabilitation. The class is gentle but precise so no one needs worry about suitability. All fitness levels should attend.
Each class will be limited to six attendees.
About Roger Brignell:
Roger started teaching Pilates about 20 years ago after training with the Pilates Institute in the UK. His specialist areas being rehabilitation from injuries (especially of the back , neck, knee and shoulder) and exercise in pregnancy.
He qualified as a specialist exercise coach training with the Chek institute in California, worked for the Barbican Gym and KX gym in Kensington where his clientele was drawn from the rich and famous; after which with a partner he ran two personal training studios in London called Body Studio.
During this time he had two books about the Pilates method published, ran marathon races, competed in triathlons learned to box and to kickbox and took up weight training. He has been living in Cyprus now for the past 4 years and has every intention of staying here.
