Yoga with Evi (Wednesday/Friday)
Yoga is an ancient philosophy which provides multiple techniques by which one can rise above mental and physical patterns that cause dysfunction or suffering. These techniques have a holistic approach on human existence (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and habitual).
During yoga with Evi – 1.5 hour – classes we will explore and experience the following:
Asanas (yoga postures):
Asanas are intelligent physical postures which work on every aspect of the human body (bones and muscles, respiratory system, nervous system, endrocrine system, etc). Through a healthy body we can achieve a healthier emotional and mental state.
Because of our modern life-style many of us develop breathing patterns which are damaging to our health, both on a physical and mental level. Developing healthy breathing patterns has an enormous effect on our bodies and minds. Yogis have discovered that our breath and mind goes hand in hand. Calming breathing is associated with a calming mind and vice versa.
By concentrating or focusing on an object (this could be our own breathing), we distance ourselves from our thoughts. In that way, we train our minds into not being victims of our own overwhelming thinking patterns.
