Raw Foods

Raw foods, sometimes known as living foods, are foods with life still in them. Raw food contains essential nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, living enzymes, water and oxygen which are essential for the immune system and far less taxing on our bodies than the standard cooked food diet. This results in less energy used for digesting food, therefore, we feel more energized, require less sleep, experience greater mental clarity, and leaves us more time (and energy) for our work, leisure activities, family, kids, exercise, etc.

Raw foods may also help in the recovery of various serious illnesses and diseases. This nutrient dense way of eating allows the body to receive vital nourishment to assist in the healing and repair process.

Raw and natural foods allow us to get closer to nature, especially when we are eating the seasonal foods within our local environment. Raw food encourages a lifestyle that is in accordance with the principles of natural law. These are foods that are more connected to the earth because they are not processed or refined and have no additives, preservatives and toxic chemicals.

Cooked foods by comparison can be much lower in vitamins, minerals, water, phyto-chemicals and other important nutrients. Cooking food (heated above approx. 46 degrees C) reduces vital enzymes, minerals and vitamins which are needed to assist in the digestion and absorption of food.

A person does not have to eat 100% raw in order to benefit from raw foods. Typically, if a diet is very high in fresh raw vegan foods then this is an excellent way to experience the many great benefits from eating raw foods. Essentially, when we eat more alive (foods), we feel more alive!
